The CIO Group delivers a wide range of information and technology support services to the Department's policy Directorates. These include:

• Business solutions designed to improve information flows across the Department and its delivery chains to support better policy making, performance improvement, and customer focus

• Strategic advice on the management of information and systems to enable the Department to deliver upon its objectives to ensure better outcomes for children and learners

• Developing and maintaining the information strategy and enterprise architecture for the sector to support the lifelong journey of learners

• Expertise to improve the effectiveness of programme, project and risk management across the Department and its partners

• Creating and delivering innovative technology solutions to the Department's ministers and officials to improve the way we work

• An active role across Government in promoting and supporting the development and use of technology which delivers better services to Citizens
