General Information for working in the UKWhen you come to work in the UK you need to find out about tax and National Insurance. You must complete a form called Arrival in the United Kingdom (P86).Your first point of contact will be Jobcentre Plus. This organisation can help you find work and advise you about relevant forms. If you start work your employer will give you a form PAYE - notice of new employee (P46) to complete. If you intend to work for yourself or start a business you must register with HM Revenue & Customs. You will need to complete the form Becoming self-employed and registering for National Insurance contributions. You can download the form or collect it from your local HM Revenue & Customs enquiry centre. Business Link will provide you with further information on setting up a business.
