01.08.02 New Key Skills Qualifications Specifications & Guidance 2002

New publication: "Key Skills: Qualifications Specifications and Guidance" 2002 can be obtained through the QCA website: http://www.qca.org.uk/nq/ks

It is written primarily for tutors and assessors within all types of centres. It contains guidance on how candidates should prepare evidence for their portfolios. For assessors, it covers interpretation of the requirements for portfolio evidence in the key skills specifications and the way in which the assessment must be carried out and recorded. This publication, in particular the specifications, is essential reading for all those responsible for the teaching and assessment of key skills.

This publication includes a new introductory section and amalgamates the following earlier publications:

- Guidance on the key skills units: communication, application of number and information technology (levels 1-3);

- Guidance on the key skills units: communication, application of number and information technology (level 4);

- Addendum: Guidance on the key skills units: communication, application of number and information technology, published in September 2001.

For ease of reference, the current key skills specifications (levels 1-4) for communication, application of number and information technology are also included.
