The Music and Dance Scheme Expert Panel
The DCSF Music and Dance Scheme Team has set up an Expert Panel to advise the Department on issues affecting the operation and development of the Scheme, in particular, the development of the Centres for Advanced Training (CATs) and associated activities. The Panel is a stakeholder advisory group and forms part of a wider “virtual” group of key stakeholders.
The current membership of the Panel and their representation is as follows:

Susanna Eastburn – Arts Council England (music)
Lucy Field – MDS dance CATs
Richard Hickman – independent music adviser
Linda Jasper – Youth Dance England
Veronica Jobbins – National Dance Teachers Association (Chair)
Richard Jones – Specialist Schools and Academies Trust (performing arts)
Veronica Lewis – Conservatoire for dance and drama
Jeanette Siddall – independent dance adviser
Penny Stirling - MDS music CATs

John Witchell – Federation of Music Services (Chief Executive)
Observers/representatives from the Department for Culture, Media and Sport are also invited to meetings of the Panel which occur once a term. The first meeting was held in December 2007. Other experts and policy-makers (particularly from the gifted and talented, and music/creative arts areas) will be called upon from time to time to help inform discussions and policy making.
