On the 19 July 2004, the Department re- launched the In Your Area website.
The Department have re-developed the existing site to improve the availability and accessibility of small area statistical information about Education and Skills. The updated site allows users to access key facts and local information about education and skills based on postcodes. The data available in the site covers 6 geographies. These are Parliamentary constituency, Ward, Local Authority District, Local Education Authority, Government Office Region and England.
The information available within the site has been grouped under 15 broad categories, Did You Know, Literacy and Numeracy at age 11, Literacy and Numeracy at age 14, GCSE / GNVQ results, Pupils with Special Educational Needs, School Initiatives, School Workforce, School Funding and Resources, Children's Social Services, Early Years, Class Sizes, Post 16, Higher Education, Adult Education and LEA Contact Information and provides users with accessible small area statistical information about education and skills and the ability to:-
You can find information and small area analysis, including pupil and learner outcomes, covering the whole education and skills sector including details of the Sure Start programmes, Key Stage attainment and Adult Education enrolments plus the details of local MPs and much more. So if you've ever been asked to find out details of the Literacy and Numeracy of 11 year olds in Broom ward or the Sedgefield parliamentary constituency, or maybe the numbers of specialist schools in a specific postcode area you can now find it within a few clicks on this new site.
