Getting started

The Practical Support Pack website is intuitive and easy to use. All the materials you'll need to teach a particular topic are organised into modules. To start, simply choose your subject from the subject homepage.

A few moments planning will help you get the most out of this resource:

• Set aside some time to browse through the website to see what resources it can offer you and how these can be built into your lesson planning.
• Think about how the resources can best meet your needs. Are you looking for a different way to teach a favourite topic? Select a topic and work through the suggested approach. Or simply watch stimulating video case studies of subject teachers using ICT in the classroom - these can provide inspiration and ideas for you to enrich your own subject teaching. You can select the video case studies from the subject homepage.
• What's the best way of using the resources for you? Each module has everything you'll need to teach a particular topic, from lesson preparation to homework and evaluation. You can choose to use as much or as little of the material as you need, according to your needs and ICT expertise. You can also download modules onto your computer or laptop so that you can work offline, making it an even more flexible resource.
• Would you prefer to work with colleagues or independently? You can use these resources independently and learn from your own experiences in the classroom or you can benefit from colleagues' experience and share best practice.
