Target-setting in Schools

Summary
of contents
This Circular offers
advice on statutory target-setting in schools. Governing
Bodies are responsible for setting and publishing targets
by 31 December each year, for the achievement of pupils
at the end of Key Stage 2 and Key Stage 4 in the
following school year. The legal basis for this is in
Section 9 of the Education Act 1997 and subsequent
regulations 1998/1532.
