WELCOME TO RECOGNISED UK DEGREES

The UK has a well-deserved reputation world-wide for providing high quality and reputable higher education. There are over 150 higher education institutions in the UK that are permitted to award a wide variety of degrees to suit most educational aspirations. All institutions have degree awarding powers recognised by the UK authorities (UK and Scottish Parliament, Welsh and Northern Ireland Assemblies).

All those institutions or bodies which can award degrees which are unique to them, but do not have the powers to award any degree, unlike the Recognised Bodies..

The UK Department for Innovation, Universities and Skills cannot give advice on overseas institutions operating outside the UK, or comment on the quality of the provision that they provide. It can only give guidance on recognised UK higher education institutions that have UK degree awarding powers set up by Royal Charter or Act of Parliament. Overseas Higher Education Institutions are subject to the quality assurance mechanisms of their own country.
