Special Educational Needs in England January 2004

DescriptionThis Statistical First Release brings together the information about Special Educational Needs (SEN) and related information about special schools in England. It replaces the Statistical Bulletin "Special Educational Needs in England" (last published in November 2003) and updates provisional 2004 figures published in the SFR "Pupil Characteristics and Class Sizes in Maintained Schools in England".

Information is mainly drawn from two sources: the Annual Schools Census and SEN2 survey. The SFR provides information on the incidence and placement of pupils with SEN together with analyses on the characteristics and attainment of pupils by their stage of SEN.
