Absence Data
Absence Term 2007 and Spring Term 2008 (combined) Absence Statistics (Provisional) - This workbook has been produced as a tool to estimate the Autumn Term 2007 and Spring term 2008 (combined absence statistics. This shows how the DCSF calculates Autumn and Spring Absence Statistics from School Census Data.
As from January 07 all maintained schools will be submitting absence data for every term via the the school census.
As from 2006/2007 Independents schools are no longer required to submit absence data to the Department for Children, Schools and Families. A letter has been sent to all Independent schools informing them of this.
Data for the National Pupil AbsenceTables has been collected since 1994 and can be viewed on the DCSC School and College PerformanceTables http://www.dcsf.gov.uk/performancetables/
As from 2002 the data is now published a Statistical First Release Pupil Absence Schools in England http://www.dcsf.gov.uk/statistics/DB/SFR/
