About Sir Bruce Liddington

Educated at Wellingborough Grammar School, Bruce obtained an English degree at Queen Mary, University of London, and completed his P.G.C.E at Cambridge University.

After a period as Head of English and Deputy Head at schools in Staffordshire and Buckinghamshire, Bruce was appointed Head of Northampton School for Boys in 1986.

The school was transformed from a state of failure in 1986 to huge success by the time Bruce left to join the Department for Education & Skills - initially part-time - in 1999. He joined the academies team full-time in 2000, and has worked as project manager, project lead, Head of Advisers Unit and the Head of New Projects Unit before moving to his new post.
