Download qualifications
Download a list of all approved qualifications
If you have Microsoft Excel for Windows 98 or above, you can download the database of approved qualifications and then import the data into a spreadsheet.
To download the approved qualification database file, right click on the link and choose the 'save target as' option and save to a folder or the desktop on your computer.
Open a new spreadsheet and follow these instructions:
- Click on the Data menu.
- Choose ‘get external data’ from the list
- Then choose ‘import text file’
- In this window, browse for the text file you downloaded and click ‘import’
- The next screen will be an import wizard and the default settings should be:
- File type: Delimited
- Start import row at: 1
- File origin: Windows
- Click ‘next’ to continue
- In step 2 of the wizard, you’ll need to change the default settings:
- Delimiters: Check only other
- Text Qualifier: {none}
- In the ‘other’ box, enter the bar character | (hold down shift on the keyboard and type in the \ key to get the bar character)
- The data preview should now show the columns correctly lined up properly. If not, check that you’ve correctly entered the bar (|) delimiter
- Click ‘next’ to continue
- In the final wizard step, you can select individual columns and apply specific data types. It isn’t necessary to do this, but may be useful if you are intending to use the advanced features of the Excel spreadsheet.
- Click ‘finish’ to complete the import.
