Withdrawing approval
Withdrawal of approval from a qualification may be considered if;
- the awarding body requests it
- the qualification no longer meets one or more principles that made it suitable for approval – for example, it is no longer accredited by the regulatory authorities
- the regulatory or funding authorities raise concerns about the qualification.
The Secretary of State may make the withdrawal at any time, but will give sufficient notice to schools, institutions and training providers, and to the authorised funding bodies and awarding bodies.
