We hope that you will find it helpful. It is designed to help Awards Officers make informed and consistent decisions when dealing with applications for student support involving Disabled Students’ Allowances (DSAs).
The new edition takes account of changes to Part 4 of the Disability Discrimination Act (1995) and also includes changes to available technology and contact names/addresses. You should note that the latest Directory does not suggest hourly rates for human support workers given the regional variances in hourly rates.
Please note; The Directory cannot cover all individual circumstances, and it is not designed to do so. Decisions on whether to make a DSA payment to a student as part of their student support rests with the Awards Officer, whose decision should be based on the evidence presented in the case. The Directory offers advice on where further help might be sought on individual cases.
